GroundBreak Ventures' first fund was launched in 2019, targeting the real estate and construction tech sector with a strategic focus on early-stage technologies that are improving how and where people live and work.

Our strategic relationship with The Hopewell Group of Companies provides the fund with real-time, on-the-ground insights into important real estate-related verticals and has been instrumental in adding value for specific portfolio companies.

The investment strategy for Fund I involves a comprehensive sourcing and diligence process and leverages a robust network of accelerator and VC co-investment partners. Fund I is currently tracking more than 750 companies across North America and Europe.

The fund looks to invest in companies with unique founder capabilities that are positioned in large and growing markets and prioritizes social responsibility with respect to the accessibility, sustainability and resilience of the built environment. It has also demonstrated resilience through the volatile economic conditions experienced from 2020 onwards, including the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent economic fluctuations.
